A dry base , two-cycle semi-diesel popular as a choice for fish tug power following the steam era and prior to the introduction of highspeed full diesels.

As of December 1999, there is only one fishing vessel still operating with a Kahlenberg engine, the WILLIAM G., now owned by Eric Nelson, Sheboygan, Wisconsin
